Cutie Pie

One week old!! We just love her!

Girls Night Out

It was so great having my mom here for almost 2 weeks. My mom and Ella were best buds and did everything together. It was such a big help and we miss her so much! The night before she left, we sent her and Ella on a special night out to the Disney Princess On Ice. They had a great time and Ella will always remember it! Thanks mom, we love you!

Trick or Treat

I'm a little late on these pictures with everything going on but still wanted to show off what a cute Tinker Bell Ella was!

Halloween Ballerina

Ella's ballet class performed in the Scarecrow Festival at Thanksgiving Point this past weekend. Her class danced to the "Purple People Eaters" and Ella decided she wanted to be a Halloween kitty cat. She was darling and loved being up on the stage!

USA vs. El Salvador & One of the Greatest Days of my Life

Last weekend my dad, his friend, Beef and I went to the USMNT game at Rio Tinto. Since my old man is so involved we had some seats on the patio of the club there at the stadium. That may sound awesome, which it was, but not as awesome as you may think. The seats were folding chairs and we were basically sitting at the end line of the field. Not bad considering we didn't have to pay for the tickets. But right before the game started a dude from the US Soccer Federation came over to my dad and says, "We have some extra seats in one of the suites upstairs, take these instead." It was awesome and the best part was that no one was in the suite besides the four of us. The game was great and we were having a great time. At half time we were inside watching the BYU/OU game and in walk these three people. Two dudes and a chick. Both of the dudes were pretty little, in their thirties and one of them was wearing some really dark RayBan's. After talking to these dudes for about 5 minutes about nothing at all, the guy with the glasses removed his glasses and my initial reaction was "this guy looks a familiar" but I couldn't figure it out. Then he puts his hand out and says, "I'm Rivers by the way." And then it clicked, it was RIVERS CUOMO from Weezer that I have been sitting here chatting away with like he was some commoner!! Well, I went into panic mode, started freaking out (making a total jackass out of myself) and then immediately tried to be 1000 times cooler than I really am (unsuccessfully by the way). I wanted to ask him about all my favorite Weezer songs, but I didn't want to seem like a tool, so luckily my brother-in-law had sent me a link to a YouTube clip about a year ago of a soccer game/charity event that Rivers had organized or was a part of (thanks Nate). So I nervously asked him about that and as I tried to remember every aspect of that 4 min video clip, to which Rivers said, "That was one of the greatest days of my life." Little did he know that I was having one of the greatest days of my life. Then for the next 45 minutes of a soccer game I sat in the presence of music royalty.

First Day of School

I can't believe Ella is old enough to go to school already! It's just two days a week and her teacher is darling. We took Ella shopping and let her pick out a new outfit and a backpack. The night before her first day, she asked if she could have her hair curly and if we could paint her fingernails...what a girly girl! She was allowed to bring one item to school for show and tell and what did she choose to bring...her beloved Bolt dog. She loved her first day and can't wait to go back!

Our Little Fish

We have been in the water so much this summer, and with spending a week at the beach, we decided to put Ella in swimming lessons. My sister has taught swim lessons for years so she agreed to help. Ella did AWESOME, thanks to Aunt Melly, and is now swimming on her own! She is fearless in the water (which is a little scary).
When she started her lessons, Ella didn't care to go under water, get her face wet, and wouldn't let go of Aunt Mel in the water. This video was taken after only 5 lessons! She can now swim across the entire pool by herself, way to go Ella! And Mel, you are amazing!

Florida Beach Trip

Destin, Florida...my new favorite vacation spot! Instead of meeting in Texas for Thanksgiving this year, we decided to take a summer beach trip. My parents rented a beach house, named 'Southern Charm', which was appropriately named for our group. Getting to Florida, for us, was a struggle- one of our flights was cancelled and we got stuck in the Denver airport for 7 hours and finally made it to Destin at 11pm with no luggage for 2 days. Good thing Jeff suggested we pack an extra pair of clothes and our bathing suits in our carry on. The house was beautiful and a block away from the beach. The 80% humidity didn't bother us too much since we lived in our bathing suits for a week! Every morning we packed our bags and walked to the beach, where we set up camp for the rest of the afternoon. The beach was beautiful- the water was so clean and tourquoise clear and the sand was soft and white. The kids loved floating on boogie boards in the waves and playing in the sand. When we were done at the beach, we would walk back to the house and jump in the swimming pool for a bit. We would then spend the evenings playing cards, watching movies, and vegging out. It was a great vacation and a lot of fun spending the week with my family!
